Thinking Digital 09

Thanks to Ifwecanyoucan I had the opportunity to attend this years 'Thinking Digital' at The Sage.
This is a great conference which offers a diverse and interesting range of speakers covering all aspects of digital technology.

I must admit that I was incredibly nervous about going. Being in a room with lots of strangers still makes my heart beat like a drum. But at least i did it, which is more than I would have done in the past.

Yesterday I opted to take a look at the 'Social Media Masterclass' lecture. This was a fantastic breaking in period for me. It was just a few hours long and had some really relevant stuff for me and my business. Speakers included Stowe Boyd (social media guru), JP Rangaswami (BT innovations - and I had no idea BT had an innovations!), Alex Hunter (head of Virgin.com), Paul Smith (better known as the Twitchiker) and Dan Lyons (Technology columnist from Newsweek magazine).
Of course the strangest encounter I had was on my way into the theatre... I ran into my old school headteacher!

Today I got to hear more from Alex Hunter who gave us all a sneak peak at the new socially active virgin.com site. It looks really good and proves how all the big brands are trying to tap into social media... maybe I should show them my App?!

I also got see the best presentation I have ever seen. Mike Southen, (aka beermat entrepreneur) is now my new hero. Probably the most entertaining and inspiring thing I've seen in a long time.

Of course I wouldn't have had the opportunity to see any of these individuals if it weren't for ifwecanyoucan. Just hope it keeps going so I can make everyone proud.

Emma.
